Got a code 27 (not -27)....

Now, I dont find any referecnes to where the "thermal transmitter" is in the HA section... The only thing I can find about the thermal transmitter is about the code itself. For a "component check" it says refer to the EL section, however ive read the EL section a few times and i dont remember seeing the THERMAL TRANSMITTER... I also dont remember finding it listed in the EL section either...

In the 95/96 Q FSM they have an index, and its not listed there either...

So I decided to do some digging on this..

I know where the harness is.... It goes from engine subharness 1 connector S53... Then connects to S51, which then connects to F5 which connets to F51/M93 which leads to the auto amplifier....

This is the sensor that is known as the "gauge temp sensor" the single wire coolant temperature sensor up by the main temp sensor... Its what the computer bases coolant temp off of to turn the fan on for the heat.... in other words, it wont effect AC...

Whats interesting is that theres a seperate temperature sensor for the "water temperature sensor" which is on the heater core....

Just thought i would shed some light on the subject, i already had a whole question typed out but then i figured it out so i figured id post up my findings so maybe someone else could make use of it...

Did you pull out the climate control display when you were digging thru the harness? Just wondering because if you did then maybe you got a peek at the part number that was on the back. I am trying to determine weather or not all climate controls with the part number 28525-60U06 have the "stay on" recirculate button feature once pushed. The previous owners of my mom's car had the dealership replace the climate control at one time with the one that is listed above. The one I have was also replaced by the previous owners but the part ends with 60U00.ThanksMatt

remember that 94-96 Q use a completely different setup... The climate control system on a 94 Q has a seperate "brain" unit and a display... The big harness goes into the brain, and another smlaler harness splits off and goes to the display...
