My 240 won't start, It turns over I'm getting spark, and fuel. I pulled the ecu codes and came up with 21, 34, 82. I had the distributer out and put it back in, i think I did that right. I turned the engine over till I felt air come out of the #1 cylinder, then set it to top dead center mark on crank, then set the distributer to #1 plug. is this right? If it is why wouldn't she start? It ran before I pulled the distributer. I've searched but not found a problem like mine. I thank you for your help in advance.

pull dist, turn motor once around to tdc again and reinstall. it may have been on wrong stroke.

But if I had my hand over the #1 hole while someone turned the engine then it should be on the right stroke when it blows air out, right?

Is there a better way to tell what stroke you're on? Because if I try to start it, how will I know if it's not back on the exahust stroke again when I set it again?

Also, I was looking at my crank angel sensor, and the connector for it won't click together, will the car start if that's not hooked up?

you can pull the valve cover and look at the cam sprocket to see when you are at tdc on the intake stroke.

it will not start with that unhooked.

If the Crank angle sensor is not hooked up will it still be getting spark?
