I have a 94 Q45a. I'm getting codes 51, 16, and 46. I want to knock out the 16 & 46, because I think the injector leak will be pretty straightforward.

What do you think are the reasons are for the 16 & 46? I know they're both traction control related. What's the best way to get to the TCM? I know it's in the dash. I took the radio out, but I can't seem to locate the unit.

The friend I sold my 90Q to called me this week and we pulled code 51 from the ECU. Even though it is an injector code wiggling the MAF connection cleared the engine miss and cleared the check engine light (CEL). Sorry but I have no experience with the other two codes.

Is your CEL staying lit?

The injector code doesn't mean the injector is necessarily bad just that the fuel trim is out of normal range and running rich for the TPS [load] and rpm expected value.

Hey JOE something is wrong and I'm not smart enough to calculate what exactly it is other than running rich CHECK IT OUT PLEASE [says the light]

For the code 51 I'll recheck the MAF plug tonight. Could a new fuel pump cause that? I just put in a new fuel pump. I know it's a stupid question, but I'm grasping at straws.

What about the Code 16 and 46? I see the similarity. Also how do I get to the TCM to inspect and/or remove?

No. It is, you are. Multiple faults occuring simultaneously create undiagnosable wierd symptoms.

Codes should be in FSM. TCU is the same as ECU, but in other kick panel. Get the FSM before you try transmission diagnosis.

TCM is the Traction Control Module Not Transmissiion Control module in this situation. It's confusing.
