Code 1456 - 2003 Pathfinder - EVAP Control Valve

Hey all,

I've recently had my engine light come on and when I check it with my OBDII tester I'm getting a 1456. From what I've read up this seems like a EVAP Leak issue whick could be related to the vent control valve connected to the EVAP Cannister.

I'm trying to find a map similar to this one but for the 01-03 Pathfinder: http://www.justanswer.com/uplo...4.pdf

Will I have to remove the tank to get access to the EVAP control valve? I'm going to double check the solenoid as well as the weight of the cannister and want to make sure I'll be okay to access this all.

Sorry man, I cleared the code, I find the sensors on these trucks are built to feed the dealerships cash, if it pops up again then I know I have a real problem.

As an additional note to my lazy response, code 0456 or 1456 can be any of the following:

Fuel filler cap, vacuum connection, fuel tank, fuel tank pressure sensor, evaporative bypass solenoid, evaporative two way valve, evaporative control canister vent shut valve, evaporative control canister and evaporative purge control solenoid.

Needless to say, the only easy fix there is the fuel cap, but not likely that is your problem. The code has just recently come back, I've tightened the fuel cap one more time and cleared the code. If it comes back again, I'll know that it requires diagnosis. If it comes back, I'll post on the journey this fun little code takes me on.
