code 138

Yesterday we had 2 sensors replaced. They were 138 and 139. Just a short time after my car was fixed the SEL came back on. I took it for a reading and it showed 138 again. What needs to be done????? I have to get my new tags but can not get emmission tested with this light on. Help....

P0138 - Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1)
P0139 - Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1)

Both fault codes refer to Bank 1 Rear O2 sensor (HO2S2-B1). Did they replace the faulty O2 sensor or may have replaced the wrong one. Bank 1 is towards the firewall while Bank 2 is towards the radiator. Bank 2 Pre-Cat is oriented vertically and can be seen between the engine and the radiator, including the front O2 sensor (HO2S1-B2). Did you use Bosch or NGK/NTK sensor or something else?

The Bank 1 Pre-Cat is horizontally mounted belowthe engine with the HO2S2 sensor located in front of it. You also have to check for air intake leaks. Refer to the link below for more information, starting on page EC-249 for P0138:
