so long story short i blew my blacktop sr due to dentation, so i bought a fresh redtop sr.

The problems im having is my car is really sluggish and bogs down at acceleration. Im getting code 11 which is cas, ive replaced it with a known good one and still getting the code. The car will back fire pop randomly, mainly when i let off throttle. I havent seen any loose wires on cas harness. Also, im running a 62 ecu which throws the code, but when i swapped with my 63 ecu no code, but bogging problem is still there. i followed the post on how to set cam timing, dark links with the cam notches, then crank at 2nd mark to left(0tdc). I also set cas with timing light to 15 btdc still didnt help. Any suggestions? i wouldnt think cas would cause the car to bog crazy like it is.

motor has good compression and good vacuum if that helps.

I would make sure that the CAS wires are showing continuity and minimum resistance from the CAS to the ECU.

Also check for boost leaks and you're absolutely positive cam timing was spot on with the timing chain?

Make sure the TPS hasn't been futzed with as well and that the MAF plug is well seated on the MAF.

could be a boost leak, although doubtful. As far as timing yes i was spot on but i will check again. All seems to be pointing to the cas hence code 11. i will further investigate today as far as continuity and resistence. thanks

it sounds like you're fighting more than one problem!!

since your code problem went away when you changed ECUs, I would leave in the other ECU you installed. check your fuel pressure make sure it is not high or low (check it while you drive the car) also if this motor has never ran right from the beginning you might want to check your cam timing. I actually ran across one motor the cam timing was out. I guess somebody must've switched out some performance cams or something but it sure did run like crap. Also a bad TPS switch can affect timing. Well I hope this stuff helps
