This is the Error I get when I hook up my Diagnostic port on the laptop.

Code 11: Camshaft Angle Sensor circuit (CAS) >Car started 29 times with this faultCode 34: Detonation Sensor circuit >Car started 0 times with this fault

Problems: Saturday I test run a Miata turbo that gets low 14 sec 1/4 mile I had him follow me and he had no problems staying with me. No high speed chase we just did a WOT through a few gears and stop. Sunday I check my cam alignment and took pictures. It appears to be dead on. I pulled the distributor cap and check to see the alignment at TDC. The distributor appeared to be a tooth off but my timing light tells me it is in correctly. Yes I know how to set timing. After cleaning up and putting everything back together taking a test run the car seem to be getting slower miss firing.

Car setup: used JWT 72lbs, upgraded to T3/T4 50 trim .63 AR, rebuilt engine AMS basic kit rods, ARP.

I did some research but could not find CAS on 91 so I am thinking that it is really a CPS failure. If this is bad how do you fix it? Reason I am asking is because I can not find a part for it. 2nd question could it be the distributor is off a tooth even though I have correct timing?`

CAS is part of the dizzy. There is no CPS (cam, I assume). If you have a code 11, I would check the circuit before I check the dizzy, but you can run a quick check of the CAS by pulling the dizzy with the key in run and listening for the injectors pulse. That will test the 4x side, then you use a multimeter across two of the pins looking for oscillating voltage between 0-5v. This is the 360x side or the actual CAS. The code 34 is a stumper. I just rewired mine and got rid of the code for about a week (brand new sensor/subharness). Now it's back it bug me again.

EDIT: Get this, I also get code 35 on my 49 state ECU (for EGT sensor)!

It is called a Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS). I got this info from the FSM on S13 240SX series. I found the code using Nissan Data Scan software. Looking at the FSM it could be a bad light emitting diode, bad Photo diode, broken rotor plate or dirty rotor plate.

I thought it was called Crank Angle Sensor by Nissan, but either way we are talking about he same animal. I suppose it could be any of those, but then you would have a hard code on all cylinders and it would not run. I would check your wiring to see if it is in there. Since you have the Wolf ECU I would guess that you don't have MSD or BTM, or anything else like it?

You said it. I am in the same boat., except most of my problem is low vacuum and a smoking turbo. I wish you the best.

Have you ran any of the dizzy tests?

No not yet hope to get to it today. I am going to clear all error codes and reset learning mode. I will see if the error shows back up after I reset everything. If I get that error code 11 I will do the dizzy test and see what it shows up. The code 34 is knock sensor error I have all ready tested the knock sensor and wiring before I installed the sensor year ago. If it shows up bad again I guess I will ebay sensor for 60 bucks:( If the dizzy is bad 170 bucks rebuilt from AutoZone:(

I hope you don't need the dizzy. I have already replaced mine, and I paid 175 from Advance. It also took almost 2 weeks to get it. If you find out what the deal is with the knock sensor, let me know. I have a new subharness and sensor, and have jumpered the signal wire. Maybe I just need to run a ground to the engine on the other, maybe it is picking up radio noise.

There was actually a thread on that knock sensor from ebay in the 240sx section. Alot of the people said it was legit and worked out great for them. I say go with the ebay one.

I also have the eBay sensor, but now that I think about it in talking in another thread, I may have a problem with the ECU.

IDK, I just bought some 50 dollar sensor. Came in a Nissan box, and has the logo. It could be counterfeit, but it specs out.

Well I ordered the sensor this am. Hopefully it will get here by Saturday. The weather is perfect for driving around and I want to start enjoying it in the 240 instead of the slowrolla.

Sorry didn`t know you were actually selling. I might need to buy the wiring harness that goes with the sensor.
