Guys I was looking at these rims on ebay.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1Do you think they will clear Z brakes up front? How bout tire size? What should I run? I am thinking of running sportline springs. I did a search on cobra rims and did not find anything. Thanks

Warning: those are knock 98 Cobra wheels made by some company other than Ford. The OEM ones only come in 17x8 +31.

Theres been some question as to whether the 17x8 Cobra wheels clear Z calipers. Ive seen pics, but it wasnt clear if a spacer was being used.

EDIT: Here's a guy called dekand who's running the OEM size...zerothread?id=182453

the real cobra wheels will clear, i've had em on my car for a few months now with the z32 brakes. They are 17x8 +30offset by the way, everyone says +31 or 32 for some reason

Those look real good in black! Got any full pics from the side? Are you using hubcentric rings? What size tire? No clearance problems with the coils? (KSport's right?) Sorry for all the questions...

Ford only lists the backspacing of their wheels. Converted to offset, its 30.8mm or something like. I rounded up to 31mm...

NO GO.

The 17x9+20 cobra replicas or whatever are 26 pounds.

no hubcentric rings needed, bolts to the stock 5lug hubs perfectly, uses the stock lugnuts and all. I'm running 245/40/17 all around, and the offset is stamped as 30mm on the back of the wheel strangly enough. i guess ford likes to round down. Clearance against the front coilovers is tight, but it clears. They're KTS by the way ;-)These are 21 lbs each, def. big gurlz.

Those look badass in black. Can I suggest that you paint your front lip gloss black to match? I think it would look alot cleaner.

Your car looks great with those wheels. Good color combo. And thanks for the other info. I stand corrected...

not a problem, and yeah i know the lip looks bad. you should see it in person, the whole car needs new paint but i will touch up the lip in the meantime. thanks for the compliments guys. if you want the same look, the paint i used was the duplicolor wheel paint you can get at just about any car parts store. Took an afternoon to do. Just clean the wheels real well, wait for them to dry, mask off the tire and spray away.

Yeah mang, paint that lip right now. Use the same paint you used on the wheels, and it will flow much better. Again, your car looks really good with those rims. Who wouldve thought that Mustang rims look so badass on a 240. Keep up the good work, and keep tracking the **** out of your car!

Bronze MFP,Can 17x8 +31 with 245/40 17 tires clear KTS coilovers in the front??????? I have S13 and was told that my new rim which is 17x8 +33 with 225/45 17 might not clear front KTS coilovers. But yours can clear? What a bummer. I wish I could have KTS with 245/40 17 all around. That's exactly what I want. Now I'm considering shock/spring combo and doing research. BTW, I'm not a big fan of any cross-brand installation and whatnot, but your rims look danm good...

17x8 +31 shouldnt be a problem. i had about 3 to 5mm of clearance between the tire and the coilover spring. Kind of depends on the tire design too, some have sidwalls that stick out farther than others.

whiterps13, i've only been to that one autocross, but i'm dying to go to another one, or a full out track event if possible.

On an S13, 17x8 +35mm is so close to the coil, it comes down to the tire size. 225/45 wont fit. You'd have to run 215/45. Seeing as you have a measly 2mm more clearance, I dont the 225/45 would clear on your wheels either. Go with 215/45 FTW or add a tiny (5mm??) spacer FTL...

Arrrr....I wish S13 has more room just like S14. Actually, the offset(+33) I gave was was including 5mm spacer, so originally offset is +38. Anyway, I decided to go for shock(AGX) and spring(S. Tech or GF210) combo.

^ that dealer is like 5 mins from my parents house in Atlanta. Also check summitracing.com. Summit keeps changing their price, but they have them cheaper than Gene Evans for a while.

Thanks, Bronze MFP.I wonder how much bulge you have with those tires. Do you have any pics that shows it? I'm asking you this because I have 17x8 rims and need to get new tires.

the sidewall is pretty flat on those tires. they stick out a little from the rim to protect it, but are pretty flat faced after that. i'll see if i can dig up a good pic

Thaanks for your pic. That helps me a lot. BTW, Cobra rims in black look much better silver on your car. You made a right choice.
