ive been wondering for a while if this device would work on our cars, the VQ35 of course. they work on the 03-06 G35 sedans and 02-06 Z's with the VQ35DE, so im wondering what would have to be done to get it to work on our cars?

discuss...

Cobb no longer sells AccessPorts for N/A vehicles. I picked mine up before they stopped selling them and it works fine with VQ's.

Full control over fuel maps, WOT from a dead stop, 5 different tunes saved in the ECU. You can switch to them by using the cruse control button (cruise control still works btw). Disable, read, and check CEls. Pretty much full control over the car, data logging. Your can turn your primary o2 sensor into a wideband, you can even monitor gforce.

LOL u've never driven a wrx; clearly!

0-60 is the SAME on both cars, STi picks up after that. both cars are EXTREMELY similar. ur paying 10k more for a bigger intercooler and a 6spd transmission and a dial for grip settings. ecu is more tune-able on the wrx because its undertuned from the start and easier to work with. slap the new transmission and a ecu flash from subie, and ur 3k just bought the 10k price difference. suspension is virtually identical, minor adjustments but same parts with ratios. front and rear sb and stb is i think 2mm thicker? and all aftermarket items bolt on identically which make the exact adjustments to both components with less strain on oem/jdm parts and wallet...... i rest my case.

although you may be correct about the 0-60 times on the cars, they are not extremely similar. both cars are undertuned from the factory, so we can rule out that the wrx can make power similar to the STi. you can flash both ecus on both cars, but the sti will make more power due to the different engine, intake system, injectors, larger turbo, among other factors. and the drivetrain on both cars are completely different, yes the STi transmission may bolt right up, but the drivetrain on both cars are much different. and you are completely wrong according to the suspension.

you guys should take a look at this video, subaru techs speak of all the differences, and why a WRX could never be an STi, unless you do serious modifications, which would turn out to be probably more than 10K. check it out

oh and another thing...a 2mm difference on any stabilizer bar would make the world of a difference in handling and its very noticeable.

i thank you for your help. now i need to know what i would need to obtain to gain control of these features. i want to have something from them that i can take somewhere and get tuned on my own settings.

I own the Osiris Tuner software. It' s the most expensive package but has all the features for DIY. If you simply need a package for a shop to do, get the Osiris Standard. If you want to be able to change things in the future and not have a shop do it, I would get the full tuner package honestly. Check out their website.

so what components do you own from them besides the software?

im looking to get the osiris tuner, the one for like $700, but my question is what is it that gets delivered to your house? is it like a piggy back engine management system that is fully tunable, i dont know what it is?

another thing, besides uprev, what would be my other options? does anyone know?

can i use the turboXS Utec to tune my car? i know you can use that with the 350Z's and G35's and older maximas and altimas, but can you use them on our cars? the reason being with that is that i already have a guy to tune my car in mind, and he is already familiar with the Utec.

The 3.5 in the coupe is the same one in the Maxima, so if it works on the Max it should work on the coupe.
