My newly refabricated downpipe/straight pipes in place of the cat are just about done. I figured since I won't be taking my car out for at least another week (roads here are covered with salt and sand--and it'll be -15 degrees tomorrow
I know autozone sells ceramic engine enamel, which worked perfectly for my valve cover, but it only has a temp rating to 500 degree F, and I'm assuming that the downpipe immediately after the turbo gets to at least this temperature and most likely exceeds it.
So, I'm asking you guys if theres any type of enamel/coating that I can apply MYSELF to my downpipe immediately after my turbo, and the rest of my aluminized-steel exhaust up to the straight pipe that replaced the "dummy" cat on the s14.
If there is, what's it called, how much does it go for, where can I get it, and can it withstand the heat of the turbo?
Thanks guys!
Marc
