no you dont have to go threw the stages and unless you have 450 whp now dont bother. Most high stage high horse power clutches are hard to daily drive.

don't get a spec. people who have had them say they're crap. if you are looking for maximum streetability, go with an ACT Street Clutch. If you are going to be making 450 whp (probably around 400 foot pounds) anytime soon, go for the 'Xtreme' version, as it's rated to 449 foot pounds (as opposed to the 'Heavy Duty' version, which is only rated to 362)

Buy a clutch that is rated in torque not HP. I've heard some good things about RPS clutches and I think that's what I'm going to roll with when I can get the money for it.

I have a ACT Street Strip and it slips with only 300whp 240tq @ 14psi. I can make 354whp 306tq @ 19psi but its slipping pretty bad at that point. ACT clutches use the same Discs but changes the Pressure Plate for Heavy Duty or Extreme. Im switching to an Exedy Stage II 3 Puck and hope it holds better. In a few years, ill get a Twin Plate and be done with it.

would a twin plate though be daily driveable? I know companies are coming out with organic twin disks, such as clutch masters and i wanna say spec is also. would those be a fairly mild engage but with good holding power, or will they still be extremely aggressive?
