My clutch is pretty much had it and I was wondering what clutch to purchase.

I'm looking to turbo my car soon (~200whp) and was wondering what clutch would be best for driveability and power delivery. The reason I'm asking is that I have no idea what 6puck unsprung etc etc, means. So if anyone could help me out (suggestions, links) that would be awesome.

get a sprung, full contact (no pucks) street clutch. I recommend ACT as I have never had a problem with it. For modest power levels a sprund disc will give you very good drivablity and will not slip either, you definatly dont need a 6 puck.

Im gonna be selling my ACT XTSS from my KA if you are interested, its used but in very good condition and it holds more power compared to the normal HDSS most shops carry and is very streetable. Didnt slip at all at over 350whp.

I sware by the RPS MAX clutch... Good pressure palte with stock disk makes for great clutch feel... I drive every day in traffic with it and it hold up to 400 at the flywheel... bout 350 wheel hp

get the mildest clutch you can get without slippage. clutches are pure compromise. the more holding power the less the streetability. that said, you should try to get some good holding power while avoiding pucks and solid disks. i love act products and spec products.

anyone had any experiance with a stage two clutch from spec on there turbo? i bought the clutch for its streetability knowing i would turbo my ka, but i didnt expect i was gonna make over its rated 300hp. now iv got the extra money and i will most likely get a stage 2 boostdesigns kit and z32 maf. is this clutch going to slip if i mingle in the 300 area. it is a kevlar/organic disc with a sprung hub.

Theres a forum member that is having good luck at 12 lbs (T3) using a SOHC Hardbody clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. Its 20mm wider than the stock DOHC clutch/flywheel.

If you think about it, trucks were made to tow/pull. So it make sense that it would be stronger. Plus, its the same clutch as the 280Z, so the upgrades are there if you need them.

It fits with some slight cutting, and grinding (no welding though).

My Spec STG 3 withstood 1.5 years of increadible amount of abuse. It's so easily streetable. I made 230-310whp on several different set-ups. I am now stepping up to a Spec Stg 4 for my new set-up. You would be surprised how little abuse the "streetable" clutches can withstand. I would highly suggest SPEC stg 3+ or RPS clutches.
