I haven't seen a write up on clutch work and me and a buddy will be replacing his clutch in his z32 in the next few days. I can honestly say I have never touched clutch work before, but I have the basics down. Any tips from the guru's?

About 3ft of extensions and a swivel tip to get the transmission bolts off lol the rest is actually pretty simple. Keep the trans bolts in order as they have specific spots for each one. A pilot bushing puller is very useful as well. It's also a good time to do the rear main seal and rear oil pan gasket.

Yeah we'll be doing the rear main seal and full oil pan gasket, as well as installing his short throw. I didn't know the bolts were thread/placement specific, thanks for the info! To get the clutch on all I need is the clutch alignment tool correct?

The bolts are not thread specific, but length specific. Yes a clutch alignment tool is needed. The oil pan is just RTV gasket, the front and rears are rubber.

Alright cool. I've been looking to see if there's a write up on doing the clutch work, just to be able to double check ourselves as we go. I imagine its basically the same with a ka24 and a vg. I wouldn't think it's all that different.

Thanks for the write up link! That'll come in super handy. We're going to start working on it tomorrow afternoon!
