Clutch wont fully return

I'm having a problem. I replaced my clutch, slave/master, removed dampener, bled for hours, and for some reason my pedal will only retract half way and the clutch wont fully engage when I try to pop it. It takes a second and it will finally kick in. My buddy told me I need to drop the transmission again and replace the pressure plate to solve my problems. Before I go through hours of hell in my driveway, is there anything else I should consider? No bubbles or leaks, wtf is going on?

Sounds like the pedal needs to be adjusted. Do a search for clutch pedal adjustment and you should come up with a quick guide on how to do it.
