clutch wont engage

for some reason the clutch wont engage im not sure if the clutch is gone or if the slave cylinder is bad or what. the gears will go into place with out pressing on the clutch duh right clutch is out well i think it might be the slave cylinder cause the engine would rev really high when i stepped on the gas then it would grab and the car would accelerate. my slave is giving off a scretching noise when i push on the clutch pedal and the car will not move cause the transmission wont engage for some reason, more then likly its the clutch but i need help i really dont have the money to have the clutch replaced so im trying to see if its somthing that is small that is the problem and not somthing as big as the clutch itself. please any help will be greatly apprecated.

PS my engine is a KA24DE so we all know what kind of transmission we are working with here lol.
