Okay, I just installed a RB20 into my S13. Before the install I replaced the clutch disc, PP, TB and PB. Now the motor is in the car, it starts and idles fine. When I press the clutch pedal it doesnt come back up. I have bled the slave and the dampener many, many of times with no luck.

Im thinking the TB is stuck, and that Im gonna have to take out the engine and transmission again. Im praying that is not so. Any info would be appreciated!

ThanksDanny

sounds to me like your slave cyclinder is bad or your clutch fork is getting stuck, I am pretty sure thats your case, now what I want you to do is get your car up on jackstands, turn the car on, have someone step on your clutch pedal while you climb under the car and watch your slave cylinder. When the pedal is pushed in, the slave cyclinder should push the clutch fork forward, when off the pedal, the fork should return to its orginal position. if this doesn't happen that you need a new slave cylinder ( which is quick common, especially when you have your clutch system in for service) or something is in the way of the clutch fork. And just fyi, with most hydraulic clutch systems, your throw out bearing will actually ride against your pressure plate, if it was stuck, you would hear a terrible noise, like if a giraffe was dying haha

Could be that the release brg is not seated correctly in the fork.

No Giraffe sounds. May need to replace slave cylinder or by-pass the dampener box. Cannot seem to get all of the air out of the line. Any suggestions. Already went through a tall bottle of brake fluid.

describe IN DETAIL how EXACTLY you bleed the clutch lines. There are sertain steps that have to be done perfectly or air will get into the lines. It is a 2 man job too JTLYK.

ok guys this might be old but i have this problem too and i did search thats why im posting on this thread... anyways my slave works fine.. it pushes the fork and comes back with out a problem. and the slave isnt leaking, no fluid is coming out of the boot or anything. i tried bleed the line, but at first my pedal was sty stuck down, so thats what led me to bleed it. i had him hold the clutch down and i open the bleeder valve then it shot out and waited for it to just drain out.. then i closed it and i had him left the clutch (apparently he had to since it was stuck to the ground) and hold it down again... and i did this for a while.. i mean a while... but then nothing was happening... and i was getting upset.. and i was just pushin down and bring it up back and forth really fast... and then finally it started getting really hard.. and then it went back to normal.. and i dont hear any noise at all when the car is on... so yea, im also scared ima have to drop the transmission again...
