welp, i was driving back from nissandrift's place with my new MAFS (which didnt totally fix my bogging problem... but i think its better). as I merge onto I-40, i figure i'll redline it to get everything running smoothly and make sure the car is functioning. stupid idea.

4 hours later, here i am, my cars at the shop again courtesy of AAA, and i have to get up at goddamn 7am to take my mechanic the keys.

so, what do you think is the matter? basically after 2nd gear the clutch stopped disengaging. car barely moves, and that's at high revs. didn't do that needless to say for fear of burning the clutch out. mechanic didn't seem to think it was more than just a slave cylinder (whatever that is), and it would be easy to fix. he didnt seem as confident about how much it would cost though.

anyway. =( theres my bummer story for the day.

you'd be lucky if it was the slave, cuz that would be easiest and cheapest to fix.

Pedal come up from the floor? If no, it is just your slave. If not, pp may be blown.

PP = Pressure Plate I assume

It holds the clutch against the flywheel (right? k...)

I've replaced my slave cylinder twice.. (just replaced it about a week ago); I spent $17 for a new slave cylinder + $4 for a large bottle of brake fluid.. it's cheap..

I speak from recent experience: The only place I could find that sold the Pressure Plate separately was a Nissan dealer (~$100).For that same amount of money, you can get an entire clutch kit from your local parts store; clutch plate, pressure plate, throwout bearing and an alignment tool to boot.
