Found a few posts on clutches but none very informative.
What's the deal with puck clutches and stage 1,2 & 3 clutches. Obviously higher numbers handle more power. Are they also harder to depress? I now know that sprung clutch plates are better for street but what is good or bad about the sprung puck clutches? Why would someone chose a stage 2 over a 3 for the same money?
Also, seems that quite a few people have had good luck with XTD clutches which are 1/2 the cost of many others. What do you guys think? What about SPEC clutches? I know ACT is a big name but so damn expensive.
XTD stage 2 or stage 3 with 4 puck sprung hub clutches are under $200 on ebay. I hear the cover is actually made by Exeddy - Any reason not to buy one? If so, which one for 250-270HP?
