Hello, we are site newbies and we did search but the answers aren't yet clear to us. I hope you guys can save us some headache.

My son and I have built an S13 with an LS1/T56 install. We would like to have the ability to run various events (for fun)- drift, drag, road course, heck even the salt flats maybe.

This brings us to the diff, we have installed an R200 takeout and while it does OK for around town stuff, we need a more serious LSD.We are hoping ya'll could help inform us of the options of ring and pinion gears to get the top speed up and a clutch type LSD. Hopefully something OE from other Nissans? Yes, we are now on the cheap. After completing the car enough to drive it we do enjoy it but our wallets are thin. All help is appreciated.

J30 diff is a viscous type, not clutch, so I didn't vote.

3.54 - Z31 N/A (open diff)3.70 - Z31 Turbo (this one is a clutch LSD)

If you are feeling extra cheap just grab a non-turbo Z31 diff and weld the thing.

Thanks Ender, do you think the Z31 would fit in the s13? Looking on ebay the snout looks a lot longer-if we shorten the drive shaft do you think it will fit up? Do you know if the gears from a NA will work on the turbo clutch unit? Heard anyone say about the durability of the clutch unit? Thanks again for the help!
