Clutch/transmission Problem

Hi, I own a 90 240SX and I am having a problem with the clutch/transmission. Whenever I shift into 2nd gear, I get a grinding noise like the sound u get when u try shifting into a different gear without pressing in the clutch all the way. Although I press in the clutch all the way, I still get the grinding noise. Although, if I take 1st gear to no further than 3000rpm, pop it into Neutral, then into 2nd after a whole second gap, I get little to no grinding noise at all. I do not get this noise when shifting to any of the other gears though. So I was wondering what this problem sounds like, and how I would go about fixing this.:help

If it is synchros, is this fixable or would I need a whole new transmission?

I'm pretty sure you could fix it. but how many miles do you have on the transmission? if it's a lot, just get a transmission that works with lower miles on it.

could also be the clutch...if you push the car hard, wen you stop is there a burning smell? if there is, it's your clutch,

Yes, there is. I'm going to have this checked out by my mechanic on Monday/Tuesday probably to see what it is.
