1991 s13 hatch1995 s14 motor/tranny5sp conversion

Well, I replaced my clutch about 1k miles ago because it was slipping like crazy. So I did that, everything was working out fine until jsut the other day. I had noticed my gear shifting has gotten rough since I did the clutch (when shiping into gears, sometimes it would grind for a half second and go into gear.), So I though it was the crap gear oil I put it in. I replaced it last night with some royal purple 85-90w and got that all good to go. Then I noticed that my first gear has almost no torque untill it hits 1k before the redline, then it pulls fast. But up to then my motor is loud as hell, and I'm not accelerating for anything. As I do climb the RPMs in first gear, it catches. Like the car will have power as it used to for like a second, and then lose it again. I believe that is the clutch slipping. Do all these problems sound like a bad clutch? I did just replace it not too long ago so I don't think it'd be that already. The car also will have a hard time stalling in first gear when i put no gas on the pedal when the clutch is fully depressed. That's the clutch slipping, Right?

I also noticed my cars idle has gotten relativly SUCK. It used to be solid, But now and then it'll just go crazy and almost stall.

Any help is MUCH appreciated as I need my car ASAP for driving around.

The way i check for a bad clutch is that i put it in a high gear like 4th and floor it and let it climb by itself to see if it slips

You problem seems confusing run that test and see what happens. Your first gear problem i dont know what to make out of it

It doesn't slip in 4th, only in first and a tad bit in second. But no torque really until i hit 1krpm right before the redline, in which it pulls as it used to.

Whats your redline 7k so from 6-7 it pulls hard?

IDK Check your timing the weather is changing if you played with it and set it to something it may be affecting it?

Hmmm, My timing? I'm not really all too educated about the timeing and whatnot. What's the best way to adjust it? And how would that be affecting the problem? I have noticed a ticking under the hood my friends say is the timing belt.

Yes from 6-7K it pulls as is used to. But just then.

EDIT:I had used a autozone clutch when I replaced it.Do you think that that's already beginning to go out? But then why does it only really slip in first?

Yes, I didn't whomp on it for the first 500 miles, which was hard . And I, not too long ago, replaced the slave and CMC due to a different problem. fully bled the whole system with two people through the slave cylinder(dampner has been bypassed). But that's not when the problem arose. Just after last night when I was doing transmission fluid.

think on this a while..........

do you have engine mods that add torque or hp to your car beyoned oem?..

remeber stock a ka to the flywheel has sumpin like 160hp...if you add an intake+a light drive line..you add hp about 10hp...that makes 170 to the flywheel now..depending on what mods you have..you may have passed the point that an OEM clutch & pressure-plate can hold under the load your giving it...it may be time for you to upgrade to a more advanced set..think on this a while and list your mods and add the hp and torque up to your flywheel..even a air filter would change the base numbers..so add carefully.
