Alright, admittedly this post is for my brother. Here is a quick backstory before I go into my question.

My brother bought a 1990 Z32 TT about 3 years ago. The car was originally N/A, but was professionally swapped to a TT from Z Fever in FL.

He is trying to sell it now and it needs a clutch, so i'm going to put that in for him, but without any more knowledge of what else was done, I can't properly make a decision on which clutch to purchase.

So my question is, is there a way I would be able to tell if it needs the non-turbo clutch, or would it need the TT clutch? I know it may be a dumb question because it was a full swap, but do they use different clutches or are they the same? I guess i'm just not sure if twins were just thrown onto the stock N/A or if is the VG30DETT swap. What can I look for, or how can I identify it.

I do have knowledge with cars, mostly Mitsu, but not completely ignorant with others. Hate Hondas and respect Nissan.

I certainly appreciate any help you guys can provide. Thanks.

The easiest way would be to look at the area where the starter mounts into the transmission. Does it have a spacer or shim(approximately 4-6mm thick)? to mount the starter further out wards? Yes= TT clutch, and No = NA clutch.

This is not completely true. If the swap included the TT trans (as about 50% do) it may have a full TT setup which means it wont have shims. The only way to know for sure is to measure the clutch itself. I don't rememeber the sizes exactly but they can be found fairly easily online. TT clutch is slightly larger.

300ZX stock clutch is very weak. If they did any extra performance mods besides the TT swap, it likely already has a slightly upgraded clutch.
