ok guys please just put this in lamence terms for me please.

I need to get a new master cylinder and slave cylinder. my car wont go into gear anymore.

so do I need a 90 240sx slave and master cylinder or a rb20 slave and master.

If its rb parts then is there a part number I can give to napa parts or any auto store?

btw: 1990 240sx se with a RB20 gt-s swap

also has anyone found a corresponding alternator yet or are we still doing rebuilds?

you need the master cylinder for your car.

as for the slave id assume you need the rb20 one. unless the ka one matches up. hopefully someone else can chime in on that

I used one from and old 280sx off ebay, was rebuilt.

They all look alike I think for Nissan's, just buy one that looks the same

When a master/slave cly would fail it's almost always from leaking fluid which will keep you from disengauging the clutch so I am willing to bet that they arn't causing the clutch to slip.......but there is a chance the slave cyl won't return to it's resting postition and that would keep your clutch from fully engauging...I have never seen this happen before but it's possable.

What do you have for a clutch?

its really not going to be a big deal to replace the slave cylinder, its just attached to a hose. So i would bolt up the one you just got and see if it works, it cant be any worse that losing fluid. as for the master cylinder, if its the one for your car it will work.

go to the dealer and buy the rebuild kit for the master cyl. it's $30-ish. i did this on mine and it works great.
