I have an s14 that is an automatic car, in which the wiring harness burned, so now it has an entire engine, trans, and wiring harness from a MANUAL car. I don't have the clutch safety switch on this car, therefore it will not start. I still have the parts car which I can canibalize if needed. I just need to know if there is a connector or something somewhere I can jumper and get my car to think the clutch is in and then start up. I'm not above running new wires somewhere, just need to know where to run them and what to connect them to. I've put a lot of time into this car I'd hate to send it to a shop now. thanks for any input I can get into this.

I never thought I would see the day.. SHe lives! I did what you said, and it cranked, finally. THanks so much I really appreciate it. I was beginning to wonder if this basterd child of a frankenstein car I've created was going to ever start. You guys are great!! (whether it will move or not, or if everything will work, I don't know, but we're off to a great start)

Thanks. I do have another question, though if you don't mind. one other thing about this swap I did, it is a 96 car that received a 95 drivetrain, along with most of the under the hood goodies. do 95s have more vaccuum lines than 96s? if so, can I just plug the holes in the uh. . vaccuum bottle or whatever you call it on the left side of the engine bay? I don't seem to have enough lines on the car to go to this bottle. there are 2 left over.thanks again,James

Here is the differences between the 2. There is some significant changes between the 2 yrs so look over the 2 diagrams and figure out what you need to remove and what you need to reroute to match it up.

Side note though it would have been easier to just swap the manifolds with everything attached.

As far as the manifolds go, other than the block, heads and transmission the 96 engine was not good for much. Pretty much everything burned when the car caught fire. Supposedly it was an electrical fire, but who knows. All I know is the wiring harness burned somehow and my father in law (who fixed the car for a customer after a wreck) had to buy it back from them. Long story. But that's how I received the car.

It would have been nice to be able to see how things were supposed to be, but it just wasn't possible. I was not aware when I purchased the parts car that there were as many differences.

So what do these vaccuum lines affect? The car seems to run ok...Anyway, I owe you one and thanks again for all your help.

None of the vaccum lines control any critical operational functions except fuel pressure regulator. the rest are for emissions components.
