Getting the flywheel bolts out is the hardest thing, if your taking off the flywheel anyway.

shouldnt be a problem. you need a 12 point 12mm (if i remember correctly) for driveshaft, get the bellhousing bolts (youll need a long extension, swivel sockets are great for this) . also, the pressure plate toque is in inch pounds but you can convert to ft lbs if you dont have an inch pound torque wrench. flywheel bolts can be a pain but a cheater bar and wedging a screw driver works good. good luck. its not that big of a job so im sure you wont have problems.

i did it not too long ago, by far the hardest part was putting the transmission back in by myself. if you have an impact gun it'll make it 10 times easier to get the clutch off though.

Took me and a friend about 6hr total to do the job without air tools. Putting the transmission back on is the hardest thing about the job. Taking the flywheel off is tricky, but my chiltons manual told me how to do it easily.

Yeah I wasnt thinking about re installing the trany that was the hardest thing EVAR. I couldnt get it to go in I wasted hours trying to get that bish in there I even tried to dent the firewall here and there I tilted the motor back I tried all the "tricks" nothing. I just pulled the motor and put it back together and slid it back in the car. This summer I had to take apart a auto to do a stock motor swap now getting the auto trans back on was probly the most fustrating job I have ever done on a car and the trans and motor was out of the car!

We like to do the job at night with little to no daylight, but youre right, I think it might have taken 4-5, I really wasnt keeping time. I had to pull the flywheel off myself, which sucked, kept jamming my hand into something if the wrench slipped, then the flywheel fell on my chest, flat part first though. That hurt.

so you must have had air tools, thats cheating!i didnt, had a horrible lighting, and we didnt have swivel head wrenches for the bolts against the firewall, luckily my friend had tiny hands

28 Minutes, Thats Amazing..to the starter of the thread..yeah it can be done..it is good you have your torque wrench please use it when putting it back together, and make sure you have an FSM for bolt settings...for removal a breaker bar is needed for sure..you can also have a hollow steel pipe about 2 or 3 feet long that you can put over the wratchet and use as a breaker bar..

Yes you can do it. you may need a large socket set to get on the crank while you take off the flywheel bolts. I learned to take my trans out in under 30 minutes when I had to take it out 3 times in a week.

a flywheel/flexplate holder is real nice to have. or you can wedge a prybar in your flywheel
