There are a few posts on this if you do a quick search. This was actually my first question I had when I got my G and it's how I found NICO! So welcome aboard!

I believe it's a safety feature the G has. I think it's anything above 4500RPM this will happen.

I still have the issue even after all the mods I've done and the new slave cylinder...I think its just the OEM clutch and I'll have to live with it until I go aftermarket. Bad design IMO.

Very interesting! Last time I revved up my engine to take off, I ended up choking and coughing from the burnt clutch smell, and I was totally flummoxed to realize that the mighty power generated by my engine as i engaged the clutch, ended up pinning my car to one spot. The driver behind me thought I was show boating, when in fact, my car had pinned itself to one spot on the surface of this earth.

In humility, i engaged the clutch like a normal stick shift driver, and I hauled my behind off with my head down in shame. Since then, I have never revved up that high before engaging the clutch.

Yup... I am convinced this is a (crappy) safety feature of the G

I think Drew said that's the way they are designed and you can't do jack about it.

I wonder if the Sedans have this same problem??

Anyone with a 6MT sedan wanna do a lil experiment??
