Hello everyone,

I have had my G for about 9 months and I had a question I was hoping you all might know an answer to. I have been extremely gentle with my driving habits, with few exceptions. While trying to "light 'em up" (which I've done only maybe 3-4 times) on every occasion except maybe once the clutch sticks to the floor, the car moves very slowly and I have to depress the clutch again to get it to come out again. Is this normal, maybe some sort of safety feature? Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks

Completely normal. This is actually my first question I had and it's how I found NICO!

I have done a tonne of searching on this and have not found a way to alter this. I believe if you drop it into 1st anywhere above 4800RPM, the clutch sticks.

It's a safety feature...

Thanks for the answer G whizz. I was thinking it may be a safety feature. That kind of sucks though. Oh well it's still the sweetest car I've ever owned!

GMedecine:

The G is my daily medecine--it clears my head when I am in the rough of life. Do me a favor, flog your car, as if you were making love to an eastern call girl. I have a 6 MT as well, and I don't remember when I last babied it. . If it sticks, unstick it by removing your leg from the gas pedal for a tad bit, and then go to the second gear and flog it some more. The G will love you for it, in the end.

Thanks for the suggestion Jacko. I will certainly try that, it sounds like a lot of fun. Don't get me wrong, I do get on it, just not all of the time. I like the analogy too

The clutch thing is what I hate most about the car...I really don't think its a safety feature, rather a poor clutch design. If you go aftermarket, it will not do it anymore.
