Hi guys and gals...Just a quick question...when I am revving my 05 G35 coupe from a stop probably up to about 5000rpm for a couple seconds..when I let her go for take off, my clutch sticks to the floor. There is only about 7500 km's on it. Is that normal or am I knob and doing something wrong?New to the whole "racing" thing sorry if it's a stupid question...G whizz

So you rev the engine, and let the clutch go all at once, and it stays on the floor... How long does it stay there; and what happens after. (stall, shake/shudder, take off) Need more details.

Yup I revv the engine with the clutch to the floor to about 5000rpm. When I let go...the clutch just stays stuck to the floor . The car doesn't move at all (it's basically like it's stuck in Neutral) ...I have to lift the clutch back up with my toes. By then I have put it back into Neutral. The RPM's just go back down as soon as I stop revving it btw.Does that make sense? Thanks for your reply and help!

And if you shift in the "normal" RPM range its fine? A safety design maybe??? anybody know if this is normal?

I'll try it today with mine, and let you know what she does. I'll do it with the VSC off...

Yup all regular shifting is fine...it's only if I want to "let it hang" from a stan still.... could be a safety feature...although thats a pain!!Thanks again and let me know what happens with your beast!

Yup...mine does it too. Ok guys, what's the optimum shift rpm from a stand still...and when does the safety mechanismn for the clutch engage?

Road & Track says to use drop-clutch starts with the engine revs around 4k. Afterward, feathering the throttle can limit exessive wheelspin.

Man the clutch stinks (literaly)!! might have to get a centerforce one...

4k rpms is plenty! Any more and you'll just get excessive wheelspin. I guess it's a burnout preventer...

I wonder if that'll happen if the car is rolling forward slowly? Maybe it only happens from a dead stop? This has to be an electronic (engine/trans mangagement system), I don't know how you could do that mechanically. I agree though, 4000 should be plenty to start roasting the tires then feather with the go louder pedal. WOO HOO!!! I love this baby!
