Hey I just picked up a 1998 maxima se with about 79xxx miles on it and it is the 3rd day i have been driving it around. There is just a weird clutch problem, when its bogged down in like 3-5 gear and when I give it some gas it will slip for about a second and then grab. It only goes up about 300-500 rpms every time. I searched around on the forum and all I could find was that maybe the slave cylinder needs to be bleed. First of all, is this the problem or is it more complex than that. Also if it is the slave then how would i go about bleeding it correctly. I live in minnesota and its about 15 degrees out in the day right now if that helps. Any info would be great.

Usually a slipping clutch isn't caused by a hydraulic issue. Even though it has low miles, if it wasn't driven properly in the past (slipped a lot or similar) that could cause an early failure. I'd say most likely you're going to have to replace the clutch.

If you want to be sure, you can just push the clutch fork towards the slave cylinder, which would mean there is no pressure against the pressure plate, meaning the clutch is fully clamped.

Well i hope i dont need a new clutch. Were would i find the clutch forks? My guess is that its on the transmission. Well it could of been driven hard because that would explain why it has kumho ecsta spt tires on it.

It sticks out of the transmission where the slave cylinder is. If you follow the hydraulic line from the clutch master cylinder to the slave you'll see it.
