I was coming home last night from doing some "Honey-Do's" and exited the Highway...60 MPH... I double-clutch downshifted to 4th and man...all I could smell was CLUTCH...

WTF?

It is a RAM PowerGrip clutch [ACT solid hub clutch Disc, stock looking Pressure Plate] with about 50k miles on it...no drag racing...just "spirited" street driving and highway miles....

I got home and pulled it up into the garage from the driveway and the clutch didn't slip at all...

Is it possible for the Throw Out bearing to "Hang Up"?

Hmmm....

Any Suggestions?

Possible, but kind of unlikely. Is anything dumping oil on the clutch? Rear main or valve cover? It usually takes a minute to heat a clutch up to the point that it will smoke and smell bad like you were describing. It almost sounds like you had been doing something else before you downshifted and hammered it.

If it isn't an oil soak problem, then the cluth may be getting worn out.

Nope...it isn't oil soak...the engine only has 50K on it...and is tight as far as oil goes...

Before that I was cruising in traffic....not jumping on it, just driving it...

hmmm...

I will never get a RAM clutch again....I never liked it since I have had it in....
