We put a clutch in a 92 240sx about 2 weeks ago and it went through a break in period of almost 1000 miles of "baby" driving. Yester day it had major slippage when the throttle was punched. It did it for the entire day. It scared us pretty bad bc it was supposed to be a new clutch. Today there the car was driven all day and no slip what so ever even with the throttle to the floor. Any ideas? Does this sound crazy to anyone besides me?

Sounds to me like hydraulic problems...did the clutch pedal feel different?

If the pedal is not adjusted, sometiumes there will be pressure buildup in the system and the clutch will not fully engage...causing slippage intermittently.

Bleed the clutch hydraulics, and adjust the pedal freeplay.
