So my transmission has been acting kinda strange lately. Usually, when the car has warmed up, It gets really hard to put it in first gear, I have to push the pedal all the way to the floor (like as far as I can possibly get it to go) to get it into gear, and sometimes that isn't smooth, and I have to literaly shove it into gear. It's not like theres no pressure indicating unbled lines or something, it's hard to push down to the floor, but it still doesn't go in sometimes with it all the way down. It's a real pain. But then other times, it's not too hard to get into gear, it slides in normally. Any ideas?

I'm thinking clutch slave cylinder, I'm using the one that came with my SR, and I know it was bled correctly, my friends dad is a master nissan tech, yadda yadda.

Necessary info:Stock Flywheel (resurfaced)Centerforce Dual Friction clutchreplaced TO bearing, replaced rear main sealRedline MT90 transmission fluid.Stock shifter and knob.

NOTE: It doesn't grind going to any gears, so I doubt it's synchros.

Hrm... Fontana is going off on Saturday? I might have to go. My problem is that it engages really close from the bottom. I have like an inch of free play at the top. What color is your car, in case I go.

Mine is a light gray s13 coupe, looks primered gray hehe. I might have another friend that is going with his maroon fastback w/ sr20 also. And supposedly there's suppose to be other guys from Ontario or something that is suppose to be bringing their coupe with silvia conversions that day also. Mine engages really really close to the top...it needs to engage halfway I believe...about an inch of freeplay from the top.

I had a problem similar to yours recently. Just wouldn't go into gear when I started the car one day until it was completely warmed up. When it wasn't warm, I had to shut off the car to put it into gear. Problem was solved when I replaced redline transmission fluid(but you indicated you did that already). I found a leak by the shifter on one of the boots, so the fluid wuz goin low. Seals tend to go bad on the transmission at different locations. I realized I still have a leak. Maybe u have a similar problem...good luck

It got real bad today, so I took a look at my clutch pedal to see if I could adjust it (per Jesse's advice), and there was a gang of fluid leaking out of the master cylinder. So 240_Keyy was right.

I have now replaced all the cylinders on my car since I got it running again (brake master, clutch slave, and now clutch master). oh well.
