Clutch shot at 49k??

Hi, my name is Jake and my gf bought a used 2008 Coupe 3.5 with the 6 speed about 4 months ago. Last week she was driving it and the car wouldn't shift out of 3rd gear,started slipping and the clutch smelled. We let it sit until today, I went and drove it and everything seemed fine. Put it in 3rd gear at 30 mph and no slipping. Before I dive into the clutch, is there any other weak spot with this transmission?? Maybe clutch master cylinder?? It seems like an expensive and time involved job, so just trying to seek the advice of Altima gurus. Thanks, Jake

i dont think the manual transmission is weak, if your having trouble shifting I would first look at the clutch master cylinder. if you do that be sure to change the slave cylinder at the same time, otherwise you will have problems
