lately, about every 4 out of 8 times i try to start my car it won't start. It won't turn even, and i have a new starter and battery so those options are out. The inside gague lights flicker just as they would when starting the car. Im thinking one of the trip sensors that the clutch presses is short circuiting and going out causing it to not send the signal that im "pushing in the clutch" Do these things go out a lot?? It sounds like a long shot.

Mine will do that sometimes but I just depress the pedal again. It hasn't been to much of a problem.

yeah man, 50% of the time it starts fine. Which is why im not TOO alarmed by it, but the one time im stuck at school or something and it decides to not work for good...ill really be hurting. Plus, nobody likes looking like they drive an 89 corolla that won't start or something lol

If you look above the clutch pedal you can adjust the switch a little closer. Sometimes mine doesn't want to turn over and I just press the clutch pedal a little harder away it goes. I'm guessing that the plastic nub on the end of the switch is wearing a bit.

just move your seat way back and law down on your floor, you should be able to see a little button. if you want, you can just take that button off, and run the wires together, this will cause the circuit to always be closed, tricking the ignition system into thinking your clutch is always in, this way you can start it in neutral without pressing the clutch, or any other gear for that matter.

which wires together? remembere there are 2 trip buttons. One obvious one right there on the ground and another one kind of where your head would be assuming your looking at the obvious one. Its kind of above and back.

I only know of the one at the bottom, you know the one that gets depressed when you push the clutch to the floor. if you see 2, either get someone to hold it down while you try to start the car in neutral, or duct tape it down or something, this way you know which is which, and you connect the wires.

hmm....mine won't start if the pedal is all the way to the floor, it'll just click. If I push the clutch all the way down, then let up about 1/4", it starts fine. I haven't been able to figure out why, besides, it's a great anti-theft device.
