Hello NiCo-nauts, I am shopping for a new clutch kit and have a vague idea of what Im going to purchase but am not sure if I have really looked at all the information I need. Now, a clutch to me, is very important as I dont wanna get stuck with some crazy race clutch for my DD and am not sure how an OEM clutch is supposed to feel as mine is worn out. so here are my questions....I drive a KA24E with no power mods. hopefully in the near future I will be tracking my car, but first things first.

1. besides HP and TQ numbers, what is the difference in Stage 1 and stage 2 clutches etc? is there a severe difference in pedal feel? is the friction point shorter, requiring more feathering of the pedal?

2. is there a "break-in" period for clutches? It seems there is with everything on cars...

3. ummm... Im sure Ill think of something later....

Thanks!

there are several differences in oem clutch Vs. stage clutch.

Oem is cheaper and is more easy on the leg in bumper to bumper traffic. Staged clutches give your pedal a more stiff feeling, the higher the stage the stiffer the pedel and shorter the friction point is EX. Heavyduty clutch- let off the clutch a few inches and it is fully engaged All clutches need a break in period. If you wanted to make your car a track car one day you could still get a performance/street clutch and it would still be easy to drive in traffic and still be good for some track use as well. Hope this helps.

I have a exedy stage 2 in my car and its a daily driver and i love it. It is stiffer then stock and will take some getting use to. At first its gonna feel real stiff compaired to ur stock clutch but you'll get use to it. As far as the compition clutch brand i dont know anything about them, but good luck.
