Just put transmission back on hooked everything up, went around the block a few times. Was working fine till I felt the pedal stick slightly and the car stalled out (pedal all the way released) got pressure again and was able to get back to the garage the car was slipping horribly. to test it I sat in neutral I could get into every gear. But when I went into first and slightly started to release the clutch( not applying throttle ) the car did not stall out??? Anyone have any ideas??? also fork stuck in position slightly cocked unless i tap it, it then returns fully. retainer springs? release sleeve?

Sounds like the fork/retaining spring is the problem. Make sure it all goes in like the manual diagrams.

update: Dropped the transmission again! takes only 30mins now hehe anyways I saw that tha fork had slipped off the release sleeve cocked sideways but still pivoting therefore locking the fork when it reached where it had slipped off. but both sleeve and fork looked scarred and springs feel weak. hopfully replacing these will solve the problem.
