ok busted S13 sent me the link to this thread:zerothread?id=88453

This is a quoted post from it:"The AWD det engine is the same as the RWD engine, except for some minor mods on the intake, which will take about 30mins to convert a RWD to FWD/AWD det and visa versa.

The starter from the RWD is the Same as the AWD and the ca18de but different than the ca16de.

The flywheel on the AWD/rwd det is big, thick and heavy about 25lb

The ca18de flywheel is about 1/2 inch thiner than the det and but the same diameter, but the clutch on the ca18de is smaller in diameter than the AWD/RWD det by about 1 inch

The starter is the same location on all ca models, but the one on a ca16de engine is smaller in size.

The ca18det flywheel is about 3 times the size of the ca16de flywheel. the ca16de clutch is about 2.5 inchs smaller than the det clutch

PULSAR GTR"

I can buy a clutch from ACT that is designed for rwd ca18det's. I wonder if it will bolt to my fwd ca18de flywheel. the only thing i gether from this is that they are ever so slightly differant sizes, like 225mm (DET) and 214mm (DE). I cannot find much in the way for 100% answer!

thx in advance.

the answer is no, I checked it myself, I got my stage 3 spec clutch for 350, you have to use the flywheel and the transmission off of the CA18de for the conversion. I am currently rebuilding mine with a s13 ca18det plenum and a ka24e throttle body right now. Hopefully I will have it running this weekend. As far as the coolant lines and water pipe, well let's just say there is some minor mods needed. I plan on posting a build thread this weekend.

what conversion do you mean? I have been using my ca18de setup for almost a year, but the clutch is slipping and cant take the boost. So I'm trying to find a better clutch and no one seems to have a darn thing for 88-89 pulsar's.

What clutch did you buy and for what car?

great link, do u already have that stage 3? I was trying to avoid a 6 pucker clutch... I plan to use mine around town quite often. Get groceries and smoke mustangs all in one. Also, that price is awesome too!

Don't worry about the 6 puck. My SPEC Stage 3 is a 6 Puck, and as long as it's a sprung hub (it should be) you'll be fine around town.

There are a few options for FWD. Dee can get you a setup from Clutchhouse. Clutchnet sells setups. I believe even Autozone or Advance sells some brand of "performance" clutches now and they have some for FWD.
