I have a 2008 G37s 6sp and I have noticed that every time a ride on the clutch a little bit, the clutch becomes clumsy. What I mean is the engine RPM goes higher and hitting the sweet spot of the clutch makes the RPM go above 2000 RPM. Do you think I have a problem with my clutch ?

Can you make it clearer what the problem is?

I can't understand what you are asking?

Sorry my friend...I'm a little lost as well.

Do you mean your clutch sticks to the floor when you Rev high?

What I mean is that if I burn the clutch from first gear the RPM increases in neutral (I think thta the clutch heats up)o. This causes a increase on the RPM when the car is in nutral or in first gear. The clutch does not stick to the bottom and the clutch does not stop working. If I don't burn the clutch everything is normal. I'm sorry i wasn't so specific before.

If you don't slip the clutch it won't overheat causing either a small layer of gas or clutch material depending on the amount of wear already on the clutch. Clutch problems with the 08's are very minimal since the inception of the concentric slave.

You need to take into account the way that a clutch works when friction and pressure bind the two main components together, when you alter the friction coefficient by not applying that correct amount of apply pressure the clutch disc does not contact the flywheel and excessive heat is generated very quickly. Remember the dual mass flywheel is not serviceable and in some cases is not warrantable.

Thank you for the information. So do you think I have a problem? Or I should just avoid burning the clutch.

Use the hand brake if you are on a hill. Don't ride the clutch. It's just a matter of training yourself to stop doing that. I do not know to what extent your clutch has already been damaged, so I cannot give you a fair assessment.

The dual mass flywheel is approximately 32lbs IIRC. As such, there is no reason to feather the clutch for more than a second at most on an incline. Even my single mass lightened flywheel can catch on a hill.

I think the ECU does a few things when you're in neutral versus in gear with the clutch depressed. Usually the idle is lower when the transmission is in neutral versus in any gear with the clutch depressed.

Also, if you're feathering the clutch and not giving it any gas, the idle will obviously go down because you're causing friction that the engine must overcome to keep idling.
