I currently drive a 93 hatch w/ ka24de that I've basically been restoring over the last year - just finally got it smogged a week ago, and have come to the realization today that the clutch is shot, and I have to do a decent bit of uphill driving.. I fully plan on doing an SR redtop swap within the year, and have been told that the SR and KA have basically the same transmission, and should therefore be able to just buy a clutch intended for the SR and use it in my KA until I swap the motors.

From what I've seen by searching it looks like everyone says you either have a KA clutch or an SR clutch.. I need to buy something real soon, and if the SR clutch just won't work I'm just gonna grab an OEM-ish KA clutch as cheap as I can find.. Anyone know for sure whether an SR clutch bolts onto a KA?

Also, if you guys were to buy a new clutch (around stage3) what brand do you guys recommend? It seems that for everyone that recommends a brand there is always another guy who says they suck. I was thinking ACT or Excedy but have even heard good things about Spec - and Spec is pretty inexpensive. Any help would be appreciated

No they won't bolt up. i'm not sure the reason but i think it has to do with the bolt pattern. I know it won't work. As for the clutch I have a stage 2 ACT. You can really tell the difference in it vs. the stock one. I wouldn't put a stage 3 on a stock KA. The clutches are rated for different HP. The stage 2 is really enough. It really grabs coming out of 1st gear. Got mine at Nopi.com. Just need to get an aliment tool. Good luck

SR and KA have different bolt pattern, won't work.Have you tried Clutchnet clutches, they have a very good prices + great quality, they have a special retainer on the sprung hub discs, so they won't pop out, real cool design.have nothing bad to say about other guys, just thought would recommend Clutchnet guys as well, they desreve it..
