Today I took the car for its usual oil and filter change, and on the lift a small piece of metal came out of the clutch assembly. I reckon it's part of the pressure plate, which the Nissan dealer supposedly said that it's the final death rattle of my current clutch (although I didn't feel it, nor does the clutch slip).

So, I don't wanna play games with my car so I am looking into NOT replacing my clutch with Nissan OEM parts.

I've read the other clutch topics and followed closely on the Fidanza clutch explanation video. I am looking for a STREETABLE clutch, good for normal driving with a LONG life and some resitance for a couple of track days. I do NOT have forced induction on the car, so HP numbers are almost stock (mods I have do not add that much HP).

I narrowed it down to:

Fidanza 4 Pad Kevlar Clutch Kit - $573http://www.autopartswarehouse.....html

or

ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate 4 Pad Race Disc Clutch Kit - $608http://www.autopartswarehouse.....html

So, which one should I choose? Or, can you point me to another option, that would suit me more.

Thank you.

That ACT race clutch is not going to be very street friendly. It's unsprung so when it grabs it's going to be very aggressive. I'm not saying it's not do-able but it's going to take some getting used to. Expect some lurching and wheel spin in the beginning until you get the hang of it.

If you don't have one already, might as well look at a light weight flywheel too while you've got it all torn apart.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I already bought (and installed) a lightweight flywheel. So that's taken care of.

I am not looking for race-specific clutches (the kind with ON/OFF switches, where it's either engaged or not)... looking for a long lasting streetable clutch. I was already leaning toward the Fidanza, and the price is really okay, so...

I'll wait for some more feedback or other suggestions until I make a buy... Probably tomorrow or the day after.
