clutch question...

ok, it takes twice as much rpms to move the car once its in gear. the engine idles fine, it starts up fine. i can release the clutch when the car is in gear, and it doesnt turn off, it just idles rough. is my clutch going out??? if so, how much is it going to cost to replace it??? I NEED HELP!!!

It would sound like the clutch to me but the only thing is I don't know why it would idle rough if the clutch was disengaged. you should check your MAF or o2 sensor also. If it is your clutch the high rpms to make the car actually move means your clutch probably is dead and you only have a little more time before it goes completely out. $125 for an oem replacement and you should just do it yourself with a buddy but there's a place in Concord that does it for $255 (labor not including parts) or Hayward is the closest place for you. http://www.clutchwizard.com if you choose to go the route of not doing it yourself. check our sponsors too if you just want to upgrade the clutch which is a good idea.
