It sounds like a screaching or grinding noise when I push in the clutch. This mainly happens at low speeds in first and second, but sometimes when I am setting still not in gear and push in the clutch also, or down shifting into first or second. I have a 95 240SX SE the guy I bought it from said it had a new clutch(coupe of months old) installed. Does it need to be adjusted? When driving down the road it sounds normal shifting up.:help Thanks for your help.

A new clutch wouldn't be screeching or grinding. Do you believe it's a new clutch? Maybe the person you bought it off of lied to ya. Why don't you just change it?

it is possible with a new clutch, I have a new one in my car and i get the same symptoms sometimes. Try bleeding the clutch thoroughly, might help. Brett

How is it possible with a new clutch? I'm going to change my clutch in about 2 weeks and I hope I don't run into that problem.

Blackbeltclub99: Think of it this way, if you bought that 1995 240 SX brand new from the dealership, would it make such a noise when you're driving it home for the first time? I don't think so.

Im not saying that its because of the new clutch. I just meant that i think its entirely separate. Meaning, it can happen with a new or old clutch.

Sounds like the pilot bearing might be going.

If you want something done right, find someone and pay them to do it.
