A couple nights ago the clutch kept slipping gears (revving into high RPMs and barely moving). After a couple minutes it seemed to be working fine again, but I could smell clutch.

The next day I drove the car about 100 miles and it drove fine, but still had that smell. When I took it to the dealer, they said it's going to be $1100 for the diagnostic or $2500 to replace the clutch if it's not covered under warranty.

The car is an '08 Versa S and I only have 11,000 miles on it. Never race it, and I know how to drive so there's no way I burnt up the clutch that quickly. I don't have the money to fix this right now!

Anyone else had a similar problem early on? Or suggestions? My car is in the shop, until I decide what to do.

Any help is appreciated.

If it is just clutch wear they won't cover it. Sounds like it was an issue with the pedal/hydro system.

Heard of like 1 other person that had to have the clutch replaced with under 30k miles, but no real big other issues.

If it were me I'd try a local shop to see if they see an issue, or just drive it until it happens again.
