Hey,

I am pretty much new here, and have only owned my 1992 240SX for about 3 days. I purchased it for next to nothing because it currently has no clutch and needs some minor body work, it will be my project car for the next couple of years.

The old owner said the clutch didnt slip or showed next to no signs of wear and one day all of a sudden the pedal hit the floor. My personal diagnosis is that there could be a leak somewhere within the hydraulic lines or something malfunctioning within the master and/or slave cylinder. I am looking for some direction, roughly what I should check first and so on and so forth.

Like 99% of the work on the car if it needs a new clutch I plan on taking it on myself, but I just want to make sure I am not over looking something obvious.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

thanks in advance

Paul

Check and make sure there is fluid in the clutch master reservoir. If its empty fill it up and bleed the system. Check for fluid leaking out the slave cylinder on the side of the trans, replace it if there is a leak. If its wet right by the clutch pedal with fluid then your clutch master is bad and needs to be replaced/rebuilt.
