Ive searched a litte, but just want a few more opinions....

I have a 92 ka24de 5 speed and im having trouble shifting. When my cars off i can shift through the gears, but putting it into reverse(to back out my driveway) makes it grind just a little) then as im in the middle of the road and go to put it in first, the car just wont let me. Its so hard to shift, so i have to just turn the car off and restart it in gear to get it back in my driveway. I adjusted the clutch and my car went back to shifting perfectly, but only for a few days. Now its right back to how bad it was before and i cant adjust it anymore. I checked fluids and im going to check the slave tomorrow to see if that is an issue. Any advice, or is it time to just buy a new clutch? Any help is greatly appreciated.

the first thing i would check would be the hydraulic system to make sure it is operating properly. I would strongly recommend replacing all components ( master cyl, slave cyl, and hose) at the same time if any of them isnt working properly. Also if it is in the hydrauylic system and you do replace a component I would highly recommend using a braided clutch line and bypassing the stupid damper box. Anyhow that would be the FIRST place to look but it could be other things as well such as the clutch itself, the fork, or trans problem.

^^ ...i'd go with the slave cylinder first its pretty cheap fix and easy and i think thats your problem..if it were your clutch you would be able to tell if it was wearing down..if not your slave cylinder then master cylinder. thats also a cheap and easy fix.

thanks for the replies... im gonna check my master and slave cylinders and stuff and look into bypassin that damper box as well today. Someone told me he thought my flywheel was too thin? But im gonna check this stuff out first and post what i find.

Flywheel too thin? Never heard of that one. The flywheel has nothing to do with the clutch engaging. That is a hydraulic clutch which is basically no adjustment to it. The master cyclinder and the slave cylinder control the operation of the pressure plate and clutch disk. If you adjusted the metal rod connectiong the pedal to the master cylinder all you adjusted was the pedal height, not the operation of the clutch. Check your slave cylinder, that is probably where the problem lies.

changed the slave, and cars running perfect again. It was definately shot. I just cant get my pedal adjusted back to where i like had it before without the shifting feelin a little awkward. So now it engages really high, but shifts like butter so ill get used to it.
