Well, perhaps you guys could help me... In 6 hours I have to head back to the university parking deck and pick my car up, and I want to have a heads up... so i will tell my story in brief.

This morning I start to leave for class, and I have a little problem cranking.. SO I let off the clutch and then it turns over... funny... so I press the clutch down a little harder and it starts.. that was weird... been driving a 5 speed for 3 years and never did that... Anyways... I head to class... 25 minute trip, some highway some city and it runs fine without any problems at all. So I park in the parking deck, and head to class. When I come back out to start my car (hour and a half later) then interior lights and everything come on, no problems, and I go to start. I get NOTHING... My clock light comes on, then when i roll over to crank it it goes out (this might be normal though, never payed attention.) I checked my headlights and nope, didnt leave em on. Everything else electrically seems to be working fine. I tried popping the clutch, letting it set, fiddling with the pedal, starting in neutral, different gears, everything, nothing would get this thing to crank, turn over or make ANY SOUND from the starter or anything. The clutch didnt seem too rough on the way or anything, no problems with grinding or popping or anything. It IS a worn clutch, and i know this just because it is a little rough sometimes, but its no worse than most.. and it shouldnt be all this sudden should it?

So, what could my problem be... Ive puzzled, unless the little sensor might be going out? What can I adjust? Also, can I push it off just to get out of the parking deck if its the clutch? Thanks guys, and please be willing to give any drop of help... I dont need this car sitting there, and I hate relying on my girlfriend for a ride in the del Sol... its a 2 seater and we want to..

Are you sure it's not your battery? Because it may only have enough volts left to turn on the clock, but not enough to give a spark. Maybe get some friends to help you push-start it? I dunno, I've had my starter go on me, and it would make a *click* sound and nothing else.

yeah, tried jumping it off tonight, nothing... If I try to push start it, I have one shot... if it doesnt work, my car is going to be setting in the middle of a busy intersection, which is why i dont want to risk it... might not work if that sensor is bad? Or maybe its not the sensor?

I have had the same problem. My lights turn on, it honks, rolls the windows and an turn the radio on.. all at the same time so I know it has enough juice.

I can't find the problem as to why it doesn't crank, click or sputters at all. NOTHING.

Let me know if you find anything!

Ive went up there three times, to try different things, all to no avail... they tow it tomorrow... so Im gonna go up there in a bit and see what else I can mess with, and if that doesnt work, well, I have free towing on my insurance, so maybe i can atleast get in home to mess with.

Problems I have had are with my battery. My post aren't clean but finally got that solved. But then my ground cable was loose and sometimes to loose to start. On your clutch you got that little button behind your pedal that won't let your car start unless clutch is in. I lost the piece that is on my clutch so now I have to push it manually to start. I could fix it, but it is a nice safety device.

Perhaps that button behind the clutch pedal is malfunctioning. Its called the clutch interlock switch, and i think its just an electrical break between the ignition switch and your starter motor.

The clutch pedal has a tab that depresses this switch right above the first bend in the pedal from the rubber foot grip and off to the left.
