Hey when installing make sure u go through all the correct procedures, including resurfacing the flywheel that can cause a premature clutch burn-out or bad slipping. also check all aspects of the clutch release mechanism. Ive been having problems similar to yours because of those things.

It depends on your plans. I am one-sided so I will provide you with ACT options. If you plan to keep the same motor set up, at 10psi, you would probably be fine with a Heavy Duty Street Setup. But if you plan to add boost you might want to up to the Xtreme pressure plate. And if you want more grab you can go 6 puck but that isn't as practical for street use.

Here are the torque ratings for the different ACT set ups. HDSS (Heavy Duty Street)- 267 ft/lbsXTSS (Xtreme Street)- 333 ft/lbsHDG6 (Spring Centered 6 Puck)- 342 ft/lbsHDR6 (Solid Center 6 Puck)- 342 ft/lbsXTG6 (Xtreme with Spring Centered 6 puck)- 426 ft/lbsXTR6 (Xtreme with Solid Center 6 Puck)- 426 ft/lbs

Like I said I am one-sided and love ACT, so I suggest them. Good luck man.

Don't do ACT, they are garbage. have had problems with them. the center splines tend to strip out.

i perfer exedy over everything else. since i found exedy i go nothing but. i have a stage 2 sprung in my white car and a stage 2 unsprung in my red car. if you like the feel of a stage 3 then get a exedy stage 2 unsprung. the grip on them is awesome.

also i wouldn't suggest a stage 3 clutch for your car as you drive it everyday. this is what wears them out faster. it's usually your first gear that wears them out way faster.

might i suggest a new flywheel at this point as well. if it were oem then i'd say get get it re surfaced and honed. but since it has a grippier clutch there is a warp factor involved. if you want your new clutch to last a long time get a new one.

i use exedy clutches and fidanza flywheels. i love them and won't get anything but.

If you had the splines strip out, there has to be a reason for it. For instance engine misalignment will cause the splines to strip out in a very short amount of time. I have no idea if that was the problem but to go on here and say ACT is garbage is ignorant, especially considering their track record.

I don't know which ACT clutch you had, but if it was a solid center then the splines will tend to wear since there is no torsional dampening as with any other brand solid center. The hardness of the ACT hubs are the same as pretty much any of the other clutches. Sure, the splines can be made harder, but then the input shaft wears instead which is not a good alternative.
