alright guys.i have a 92 240sx with an ACT 6 puck clutch in iti properly broke the clutch in.here's the dealit's been in the car for about 1000 miles now, and up until now it's acted fine

when i first got the clutch installed, the pedal would "grab" right on the floor.as i gradually drove the car, the pedal would start to grab a little further up on the pedal,

now, when i first start the car, the clutch acts fine. it doesn't slip or anything. but the longer i drive the car in one sitting, ie. 20miles or so,the clutch will slip horribly. i mean to the point that i can't even get the clutch to engage AT ALL.if you let the car cool down a little bit, it will start to engage again, just a little. so i was figuring it was the front main bearing was bad. so i pulled the transmission expecting to see oil all over the clutch disc. but there's no oil there at all. the casing is clean, just some residue.there is a little oil leaking from where the shifter goes into the transmission, but i was guessing that i possibly overfilled the transmission.

also the flywheel is fine. no burn marks on it or anything.the pilot and throwout bearing we're also replaced with the clutch.

thanks guys for the help.

If it was the clutch pedal you wouldnt have the fading away problem. I think you got something going on with your pressure plate. the springs on it may be gtting weak as they heat up.

Now this part might sound stupid but I have seen it happen. Are the pressure plate bolts tight? Did you torque them down when you installed them. They would be pretty looses if the clutch is as bad as you say. Something else stupid I have seen is the clutch disc installed upside down. the "hat" potion of the clutch disc should be towards the throw out bearing and not the flywheel.

i figure the adjustment of the clutch pedal would only affect the disengage of the clutch, not the engaging of it...that's why i haven't checked the pedal adjustment

what he was reffering to is if there is to much pressure on the input rod to the clutch master it will keep your clutch slighty pushed all the time allowing it to slip , if you said you had hot spots on your flywheel or pressure plate and your clutch disc looked burnt I could see that theroy. but since you have no signs of heat on anything I am thinking its the fingers on the pressure plate becoming soft with the heat and causeing it to lift off the clutch disk while in operation.
