ok got a 89 hatch that was and auto but now is a 5 spd well the clutch is dead i replaced the slave and flex line. when i bleed it it's gets pressure but if it let it sit for a minute it goes dead again. should i replace the master cylinderor just bleed more i resovor went empty when we were bleeding it i know that is bad but will air in the line cause it to loss pressure.

air in the line will cause the clutch to not work, as air is compressable and brake fluid is not. if there is a leak, that will cause it to go dead in a few minutes, but from what you say, i think its air and it needs to come out for you to be able to drive the car

so you think bleed it up some more, because the resovor went empty.

yes, definatly bleed it some more, make sure it doesnt get empty when you bleed it, and you have to bleed it alot for it to get all the air out, the damper box/loop is a pita to get all the air out

how did the resovor get empty in the first place

thats why you remove that box. then bleed at the slave cylinder.
