:helpOk, I've searched and haven't found anything. I have an '89 240 and the clutch started slipping. RPMs would jump about 500. It just got worse, RPMs jumping about 1000-1300. That isn't the problem I'm having though cuz I know the clutch needs replaced. The pedal is now REALLY soft for about the first 1/3rd of pressing in, then it gets firmer as it normally was for the rest of the pressing. What could cause the irregular pedal feel? BTW, if it matters at all, the clutch is a Centerforce Dual Friction replaced 14 months and about 13,000 miles ago. I am very hard on this car so I'm not concerned too much about the clutch needing replaced.

Try to adjust the petal first that may stop the slipping and mushy feeling. If that doesn't help try rebuilding the clutch master its only 10 for the kit. Then go fron there. Nick

I was thinking of trying to adjust the pedal but I didn't know if it would do anything. I'll give it a shot though. thanks

It would change the enguagement point of the clutch. It does alot you should give it a try. Every once in a while I have to adjust mine. I also had the problem of my car eating a clutch every couple months. I had to end up rebuilding the clutch master and adjusting the petal several times. I could be alot more but I would focus on the first steps like adjusting petal and rebuilding the master. You can pick up a clutch master rebuild kit for 10 at advanced auto. Nick
